Blender Progress #1

sweep_stakesSo I started learning Blender! I decided to start with it because it seems the simplest (and also free). I'm hoping to upgrade to Maya or something similar when I get better *A*
I'm making my way through this tutorial for now, it's all v.basic but the pdf + videos are really useful. I've gotten to the point where I know a few things by heart which I'm happy about? The only problem is the tutorials are all a few years old, so my version isn't entirely compatible with everything, but it's all understandable. Another problem is a few controls use the mouse's scroll button which I don't have on my laptop <__>. There's a workaround but it's not 100% the same so I'm missing a few features
The first tutorial was making a submarine (based on the yellow submarine music video)
AS YOU CAN SEE... it's really simple and ugly. But making something from scratch for the first time was satisfying.
Here it is in action, excuse the jank quality of the gif haha. Again it's really dumb looking but it was fun
The second tutorial involved making a castle:
The version differences were really noticeable in this, there's supposed to be a texture but it really didn't want to work for me. This is much better looking than the submarine though!
